A randomized controlled trial published in Phytotherapy Research found passionflower extract comparable to oxazepam (a common anti-anxiety medication) in reducing generalized anxiety disorder symptoms, with fewer reported side effects. Practitioners here have been using it in tinctures and teas for generations.
